A week of busy-ness

I already posted about being able to head out to Arlington National Cemetery for Memorial Day, but in browsing back through, I realized I hadn't mentioned a little piece of news - StG is staying with us! His flight out from Kansas arrived Tuesday, and he's already pretty well set up a lot of his details for living out here. He already had a job lined up, but he has gotten a car, found housing, and gotten insurance all done. Car license and a VA drivers license are the last big items he needs to handle.

Actually, I almost never see him even though he's staying with us until his housing is available - between work, clogging, and his girlfriend, we're rarely home at the same time, or at least not when we're both conscious. :^) We took a hike on Sunday after church and had fun climbing around Bears Den, but other than that I don't think we've spent more than an hour together at any one stretch. He's having fun with moving and stuff!

Let's see, what else happening? Not much that's exciting for the rest of the world - work is going well, clogging performances are good, um, oh yeah! The Round Hill Hometown Festival was last Saturday!

Our church had a float and tossed candy and held games and had a pinewood derby entry! Three-legged races, sack races, and water-balloon tosses! On a hot day like Saturday, the water-balloons were quite popular! We also had a clogging performance at the show (that was handy!) and it was our hottest performance this year, even with the canopy over us.

A bit of a complicating factor for us was the pie eating contest that was just before our performance - they definitely put down a tarp to catch all the pie that was slopped over the edge, but needless to say it didn't catch everything! Oh, they mopped and cleaned up the pie that got on the stage floor, but when we got on it was still pretty slick and oily. Thankfully there weren't any falls!

Life is really, really good. Thank God for all his blessings of friends, family and fun!
